Was visiting from VT because we have 2 friends who live in Brooklyn. The woman behind the counter tried to be helpful by asking what we were looking for but was pushy and super opinionated. Not a great experience and def wouldn’t go back. Very unfortunate because it looked like it had some great stuff. Need some training in better customer service. We still bought some things even though we left and felt incredibly uncomfortable….:(

Tasteful store for “tweens” with a carefully selected fashions for trendy young girls. It’s always helpful with guidance from a patient and knowledge owner.

Was not able to get appropriate sized boxes for the presents that were purchased. Silly!

I have shopped at Born a few times in the past few months - and have always had a great shopping experience. The woman who works there helped me pick out teeny sunglasses and a sun hat that fits my newborn perfectly. They also carry beautiful muslin blankets that are my absolute fave. Wish they weren’t as pricey but they are so high quality I don’t mind.. they are so cute and end up even softer after a few washes. Feels like a product you might have forever. Great selection and fun shop 🙂 thank you!

Owner seemed nice at first, but then quickly made assumptions about my girlfriend & I. We had a bunch of bags full of clothes to donate that day, but seeing that & that we were Asian, she made sure to tell us not to take photos, implying that we worked for a clothing bootlegging company.

We don't work for Shein, but if your onesie for 3 month babies are going to cost over $45, maybe they wouldn't be a bad choice. Good luck with your store move.

Cute store with a variety of clothes for infants up to young teens. Lots of books puzzles and jewelry as well - while more geared to girls has plenty of unique stock for a nice gift. Staff may seem a little awkward - they are proud of their store - just tell them what you are looking for and they will do their best to help

My first review on Yelp. I had to speak up. During a pandemic you would hope shopping on smith street would make you feel great. Well Saturday I went into Born to shop for my baby. The older lady working here was following me around the store. It's bad enough we have to keep a distance but feeling someone on top of you watching every move is outrageous. I asked about two baby products but they don't have them in the store but her blank face like if I had 3 heads wasn't fun either. Just not a fun experience at all.

Quite honestly the rudest shop owner I have ever encountered. My GRANDSON wanted to try on a pink and purple bucket hat that was in the window. Shop owner barely opened the door and said…this is a little girls shop. I said HE likes purple and pink to which she replied it won’t fit him and did not open the door
any further. Unacceptable!

I walked in without a hello or any greeting other than ‘do you have a mask’? Which was followed
up by a glare and tone that insinuates that I somehow didn’t belong in the store. Needless to say I walked out immediately.

I am a proud uncle of thirteen nieces and nephews, all of whom receive gifts of clothes and toys throughout the year. But it seems like if you’re not a white woman shopping in these neighborhood shops you are treated with suspicion and contempt.

I have no issue putting on a mask, but if your tone from the outset is going to be this negative you can count on never getting a penny from me. And that’s really your loss, I’m single and have plenty of extra money to spend on my family.

Shame on this business. From the other reviews it seems like this attitude is a feature and not a bug.
